After producing easily the most popular 1UZ VVTI / 2UZ / 3UZ supercharger manifolds on the market for the past few years and continuously struggling with stock shortages and the ever increasing material and manufacturing costs with our billet range we have decided to invest in tooling and head down the cast path along with taking the opportunity to make some much needed improvements based on data and feedback we have been able to gather from numerous installs and customers.
Many will question why we would want to move away from billet and start offering a cast variant, the answers are is simple…. production capability and cost.
By getting these manifolds cast we will be doing larger runs which means having stock on the shelf ready to go which is a huge improvement over the 4-6 week lead times customers currently have to deal with, with the billet versions we were limited to how many we could produce due to the huge amount of time it takes to machine them plus the additional time required to media blast an anodise.
The cost aspect should be pretty self explanatory, over the past 12 months we have seen material prices increase at least 40% along with manufacturing costs, anodising, hardware costs and of course freight. With this all said we did not want to increase our sale price and have been wearing the additional costs which we can no longer do if we plan on continuing to bring you top tier, innovative products and so the introduction of cast units in larger volumes will allow us to produce the same high quality product at a more cost effective price point therefore making the product more accessible to even more people!
Billet versions will still be available to purchase for those chasing them however the pricing will be based on current manufacturing costs, these will be made-to-order only once the cast versions are fully released later this year.
